Supporting the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders
The Aspire to Inspire Bursary was established by Medical Direction McGill to support undergraduate students who are pursuing a future in healthcare but may face financial barriers along the way. This bursary exists to help reduce inequities that make entry into healthcare professions less accessible.

All undergraduate students at McGill, from any academic background or year of study, are encouraged to apply. GPA is not used in the evaluation process.

Proof of enrollment at McGill (through minerva), and the Essay.
Applications are reviewed holistically with an emphasis on equity and accessibility. The written essay is the primary evaluation component and is weighted at 80 percent. The CV is weighted at 20 percent. Financial need is an important part of the review.
Top applicants will be contacted for a brief interview. All applicants will receive a decision after the review period. GPA is NOT considered at any point in the process.

Yes. International students are fully eligible to apply.
3. Is there a minimum GPA required?
No. There is no GPA requirement.
4. Will my GPA be considered during the evaluation process?
No. GPA is not included or reviewed at any stage.
5. Do I need to be in a specific major to apply?
No. Students from any major may apply. However, your application should clearly demonstrate an interest in pursuing a healthcare-related career.

Yes. U0 students are eligible.
7. I am in my final semester. Am I still eligible?
Yes. Students in their final semester may apply.
8. What counts as a “healthcare career”?
Healthcare careers span many fields, including (but not limited to) medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, research, clinical sciences, and graduate-level science programs.
9. What if I’m interested in healthcare but unsure which field?
That is completely fine. As long as you can communicate your sincere interest in entering the healthcare sector, you are eligible.
10. When are decisions released?
Applications typically run for about one month, with results generally released in late March or early April.
11. Can I reapply in a future cycle if I am not selected?
Yes. Applicants who are not selected are welcome to apply again in future cycles.
12. Are graduate students eligible?
No. As a club under the Science Undergraduate Society, our funding must be allocated exclusively to undergraduate students.
